The Las Vegas Highland Games hosts an incredibly diverse selection of the best bagpipe bands from across the United States, in addition to incredibly competitive solo competitions.
WE PROUDLY WELCOME THE FOLLOWING BANDS TO THE 2017 GAMES:
The Mesa Caledonian Pipe Band is Arizona's premier Scottish pipe band, consisting of bagpipers and drummers. The band was founded in 1980 with just four founding members, and today boasts over 30 performing members. The mission of MCPB is to preserve and promote the Scottish Heritage through the performance and education of the traditional music on the bagpipes and drums, and through the arts of Highland Dance and Drum Majoring. The band is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization, and all members are volunteers.
Founded in 1958, The Phoenix Pipe Band is the oldest continuously performing bagpipe band in Arizona. The band is under the direction of Pipe Major Jeff Anderson, Pipe Sergeant Will Thayer, and Drum Sergeant Kyle Reich. Currently a Grade III Pipe Band, the Phoenix Pipe Band has competed throughout the Southwest. The band will continue to compete at Western United States Pipe Band Association contests and perform at various public venues, colleges graduations and parades.
Glendora High School (GHS) is located in Glendora, Los Angeles County, California, United States. The school is notable for having a bagpipe squad in its band program, and is one of six schools in California to have one. The school's Tartan Band and Pageantry participated in the 2014 Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2014 in Pasadena, CA.
The Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band was founded in 1986 as the R.P. Blandford and Son Pipe Band. The current name was assumed in 2003 in honor of the late Kevin Blandford. The Band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Martha Hall and Drum Sergeant Justin Hall. The Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band can be found performing at a variety of events in Southern California and across the United States.
The Pasadena Scots are a competitive Grade 3 pipe band based in Southern California. We have been dedicated to the study and performance of Scottish bagpipe music since 2006.
We rehearse on Monday evenings at San Marino Community Church in San Marino, California. Come by for a listen! Visitors are welcome any time. If you would like to learn to play the bagpipes or drums, we have excellent instructors on board. We have an extensive competition schedule from February until October, and perform for private events throughout the year.
The Garden Valley Pipe Band is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing Utah County and the surrounding area with bagpipey goodness. We offer solo performers, small groups, and full-band performance options for parties, conventions, funerals, weddings, dedications, commemorations, etc. and are pleased to serve the community with free bagpipe and drum lessons as well.
Las Vegas Pipe Band performs at conventions, festivals, parades, parties, and other cultural or community events. We are active in the local Scottish community and often perform at and support events of the Las Vegas Celtic Society, Las Vegas Highland Dance Association, and the St. Andrew's Society of Southern Nevada.
